National Open Farm Sunday

You may have heard that the National Open Farm Sunday is being held on 7th June 2015. Why are we not opening the farm as part of that initiative?

The answer is that it is sponsored by many large companies that, we believe, are devastating the countryside and are ruining rural communities very swiftly – companies such as ASDA, Tesco, Aldi, Waitrose and Syngenta.

We believe that the British countryside is far better served by large numbers of small farms selling their produce directly to those who are going to consume it, rather than by just a few huge farms selling to the supermarkets.

We also believe that using chemical fertilizers and sprays on the land, and using medicines as routine interventions in animals and chickens, does untold damage to our health and to the environment and that it is still far too early to know what effects these are having upon our bodies and our world. So we farm organically.

Our Stream Farm Open Day will be held this year on May 17th. Come along and see what we’re talking about.
