Matthew, the shepherd, looks after a flock of around 300 Organic Pedigree Hampshire Downs. His wife Claire and his daughters are very much a part of his work; whether it’s counting sheep or delivering lambs, it’s a real family affair. They won three gold stars at the Great Taste Awards for their organic lamb – meaning his lamb was among the very best the judges tried. Matt has two lambing seasons per year, in January and April. His flock graze on the undulating organic pasture around the farm.
“Matt is Stream Farm’s shepherd, and together with his wife Claire and their beautiful daughters, raises a flock of organic pedigree Hampshire Down sheep. Matt and Claire are the real deal! Their passion for genuine sustainable living and farming is evidently clear in the way they raise their daughters, how they care for their sheep, the strong commitment to do what’s best by the land, and the ethical way they run their business. They are truly practising what they preach.”
